WiNRG Obtains Contract for 120 MWp Photovoltaic Project in Spain
WiNRG has been contracted by an existing customer, a German single family office, to manage another large-scale photovoltaic project and to perform the subsequent full scope service business (O&M). In the Spanish region of Castilla y León, a photovoltaic system with a total output of approx. 120 MWp will be built on an area of around 250 hectares.
For the PV project in Spain, which is currently still in the project development phase, the WiNRG team takes over a comprehensive service package: The monitoring and controlling of the project development until the final construction stage is reached, the coordination of the due diligence, the direct procurement of the PV modules, the inverters and the single axis tracker system, the EPC tender as well as award for the solar park on the one hand and for the grid connection infrastructure on the other hand, the management of all contract negotiations, the coordination of the construction supervision for all installations as well as the coordination of the grid connection and the commissioning. After completion and energisation of the PV system, WiNRG will take over long-term full scope services (the commercial and technical management including monitoring, asset management, reporting etc.). For this purpose, as it has already been done for other large international solar projects, WiNRG will set up its own technical team on site.
The status ‘ready for construction’ is expected by the end of 2021 / the beginning of 2022 and then the construction of the plant in Spain is expected to be completed by the end of 2022 / the beginning of 2023. After grid connection, around 280,000 solar modules will generate around 235 GWh of sustainable energy per year on a total area equivalent to around 350 soccer fields. That is enough to supply around 52,500 four-person households with energy.
David Majert and Norman Nikschtat, founders and managing directors of WiNRG GmbH, are very happy about the new contract: “In 2008, we have already accompanied a small photovoltaic project with an output of one MWp in Spain. Back then, twelve years ago, that was our first joint project, for which we took responsibility for the construction and the beginning of our successful collaboration. We are now pleased that we can accompany another project in Spain after so many years – especially since we have already lived and worked in Spain for some time and therefore know the local conditions very well."
