Start of Construction in Ferreira do Alentejo
This week, the construction of the second (of six photovoltaic plants in total), started at the Ferreira do Alentejo site in Portugal. On the 72 hectares construction area, which is equivalent to around 101 football pitches, a photovoltaic plant with a total installed power of 46.4 MWp will be set up. The construction team will be on site with a peak number of 100 people. In total, approx. 125,000 modules with a total surface of approx. 250,000 sq m will be installed. The plant completion of the Ferreira project as well as the grid connection are scheduled for January 2020. From that time on about 78,000 MWh of sustainable energy will be produced per year. This is enough to supply approx. 17,000 four-person households with energy and to save around 34,000 tons of CO2.
