Half-time: Three of six PV plants in Portugal coordinated by WiNRG connected to the grid
In Portugal, the first three photovoltaic plants coordinated by the WiNRG Group were grid connected successfully. At the sites in Amareleja, Cartaxo and Ferreira do Alentejo, a total of 74 MWp out of a total output of 205 MWp is now in operation. The three remaining locations will successively be connected to the grid by the beginning of 2021: The PV plants in Santarém (23 MWp) and Moura (49 MWp) have already been completed and are just waiting for the grid operator to get grid connected; the plant in Lagos (59 MWp) is currently still under construction. After completion of all sites, the Portuguese PV pipeline will generate around 345,000 MWh of environmentally friendly electricity per year.
The WiNRG Group has accompanied this large-scale project for a customer, a German single family office, from the beginning: from acquiring the project rights and coordinating the due diligence via direct procurement of modules and inverters as well as tendering the two EPC scopes of the PV park and the grid connection infrastructure including the management of all contract negotiations up to the coordination of the construction monitoring of all installations and the commissioning.

KG, is pleased that the first three PV plants were able to be connected to the grid despite all the adverse circumstances caused by the corona pandemic: “This is a big milestone achievement for us and the beginning of another exciting project phase, because once the PV plants have been commissioned, we will take over the full commercial and technical management of the entire portfolio. Specially for this, we have set up our own technical team on site in Portugal."
